Bangladesh's passport weakens

The Bangladeshi passport has slid three notches to 101st in the Henley Passport Index Q1 world rankings, down from 98th last year.

The classification released Tuesday says that Bangladeshi passport holders have visa-free access to 41 countries.

Iran jointly occupies the same position with Bangladesh in the latest ranking.

Regardless of time restrictions, Japan still ranks number one in the index, and passport holders can access 191 destinations worldwide without a visa.

This is the third year in a row that Japan has ranked first, either alone or together with Singapore. Countries in the Asia Pacific region (APAC) dominated the index, says a press release.

Singapore is in second place, with access to 190 destinations, and South Korea is in third place along with Germany, both having a score of 189 visa-free / visa-on-arrival.

A little lower, but still in the top 10, New Zealand is in seventh position, with visa-free access to 185 destinations, while Australia is in eighth position, with access to 184 destinations.

The Henley Passport Index is the classification of all passports in the world according to the number of destinations that their holders can access without a prior visa.

The ranking is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world's largest and most accurate travel information database, and is enhanced by ongoing research from the Henley & Research Department. Partners.
